RECLAIMING HOME:
REMEMBERING THE TOPEKA BOTTOMS
Graphic Design Assistant
I worked under Maria Velasco as lead graphic design assistant to create assets for the art and oral history project, Reclaiming Home: Remembering the Topeka Bottoms. The Topeka Bottoms was a community of over 3,000 residents that were forced to leave their homes in the 1950s - 60's due to Red Lining and Urban Renewal.

LOGO DESIGN
I designed the official logo for Reclaiming Home: Remembering the Topeka Bottoms.
This logo was used on all promotional material, including: Film Credits, Exhibition Text, DVD Cases, Brochures, & Installation Pieces.

POSTCARDS
Each Storyteller who was interviewed had a personalized postcard mode for them.

I designed the layout for 40 Storytellers and the back postcard design.

COMPLETE MAP LAYOUT
The Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps were used during Urban Renewal to select which neighborhoods were undesirable.

I digitally collaged over 25 scans of the historic Sanborn Maps to create a complete view of the Bottoms Neighborhood. A 6 x 6' version of this map is a key item in the current installation.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER
I worked as a photographer to document the opening night.
